Whether you're dating, engaged, or married, being in a committed relationship with someone can be a great source of fulfillment and connection but can also cause conflict and struggle. Often times, couples wait too long to ask for the help they need to resolve some of the conflict that exists in their relationship. In our work together, we can work on building respect and trust, honest communication, and other skills that will promote connection, intimacy and genuine fulfillment. Please note that these counseling sessions are not appropriate for couples who are dealing with addiction, ongoing infidelity, domestic violence, abuse or other serious issues.
Congratulations on your engagement! Premarital Counseling is one of the best ways to support the future of your marriage. Very few things can measure up to the level of excitement and anticipation that comes when you are preparing to marry the person you love. Often times, couples are planning the wedding but neglect to intentionally plan for the actual marriage. During Premarital Counseling, we will address roles, expectations, effective communication, personality and background differences, finances, sex, family, friends, and so much more. You will see areas of your relationship that are harmonious, and uncover and address potential areas of discord. I require that couples commit to a minimum of 12 sessions that can be spread out over a 6-month time period leading up to your wedding date.
